President Returns After Unofficial Visit to Singapore

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu returned from his unofficial trip to Singapore yesterday evening.
He departed for this trip on Thursday, July 31. The President’s Office did not provide any details regarding the nature of his journey. He returned last night, after a five-day stay in Singapore.

The unannounced departure was after a week of high-level diplomatic engagements, during which President Muizzu hosted leaders from two neighbouring countries, Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India and President Anura Kumara Dissanayake of Sri Lanka, as the Maldives celebrated its 60th Independence Day on July 26.
