President Solih Denies Misappropriation of Gov’t Funds

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, the Presidential candidate of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), took the opportunity to address allegations regarding the misappropriation of state funds during a campaign event held in Maafannu. 

In his statement, Solih firmly asserted that he has never misused state resources for personal gain.

During his speech, Solih expressed his willingness to subject his financial transactions, both during his time in office and after his presidency, to thorough scrutiny. He emphasised his commitment to transparency and accountability by welcoming any concerned parties to present their allegations to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for a comprehensive investigation.

Solih underlined that throughout his political career, he has remained dedicated to a single and unwavering objective: serving the people of the Maldives. He vehemently denied any involvement in activities that could be considered corrupt and assured the public that allegations of impropriety against him hold no merit.
