President Solih Guarantees 130,000 Votes in Upcoming Presidential Election

President Solih, the presidential candidate of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), expressed confidence in winning 130,000 votes in the upcoming presidential election scheduled for Saturday.
During a campaign rally, President Solih acknowledged the presence of differing opinions within the coalition. However, he emphasised the importance of engaging with individuals of diverse perspectives to serve the greater good of the nation.
President Solih credited the coalition formed with the Maldivian Development Alliance (MDA) and Adhalath Party for shaping the MDP’s approach. He noted that the inclusion of ideas and viewpoints from these parties had garnered significant support from the populace.
This coalition represents the largest political alliance ever formed in the Maldives, according to President Solih.
As he addressed the election’s dynamics, President Solih expressed strong optimism about securing victory in a single round, assuming a 90 percent voter turnout.
He reiterated their target of attaining 130,000 votes, which he believed to be an unmatched figure among competing candidates, given the limited time remaining until the presidential election.
