President Visits New Terminal at VIA

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu visited the new terminal of Velana International Airport (VIA) and inspected the construction site yesterday.
Muizzu was accompanied by cabinet ministers and other government officials on this tour. His delegation was welcomed by Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed, CEO and Managing Director of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), along with Deputy Managing Directors Mujthaba Latheef and Mohamed Lamaan, and other senior officials.
The terminal, designed to accommodate seven million passengers annually, was announced to be opened in October of this year during President Muizzu’s presidential address at the Parliament last month. The project was initially set to be opened by September of last year.
