Cunard’s newest vessel, Queen Anne, docked in Malé, bringing more than 2,600 tourists to the Maldives. The arrival marks the first time one of the company’s ships has called at the country.

The Bermuda-flagged ship, measuring 323 metres in length and 36 metres in width, is among the largest cruise vessels to visit the Maldives this year. The ship arrived in Malé from Port Victoria in Seychelles and is scheduled to depart for Colombo, Sri Lanka, at around 6:00 pm.

Queen Anne arrived carrying 2,669 passengers and 1,235 crew members. The vessel spans 14 decks and features a range of accommodation categories, dining venues, entertainment areas, wellness facilities and retail outlets.

Founded in 1840, Cunard is one of the world’s oldest cruise lines and currently operates a fleet of four ships. Queen Anne, launched in 2024, is the newest addition to the fleet and has capacity for nearly 3,000 passengers and more than 1,200 crew members. The vessel is also the largest in the company’s fleet to have completed a full circumnavigation of the globe.

According to the president of the Maldives Association of Yacht Agents (MAYA), Cunard is the first cruise line to operate a cruise ship to the Maldives.
