‘Rakka’ Road Safety Campaign Launched With Renewed Focus on Responsible Road Use

The “Rakka” Road Safety Campaign was officially launched today, signalling renewed efforts to promote safer roads and responsible road use across the Maldives.
Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen officiated the launch ceremony, where he unveiled this year’s campaign hashtag, #Rangalhukolla. The Maldives Police Service said the hashtag conveys the message of refining responsible road use by encouraging people to make the right choices, and will feature across all road safety activities conducted under the Rakka initiative.
Senior officials from the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), Housing Development Corporation (HDC), Ooredoo Maldives, Allied Insurance, and Sheesha Maldives attended the event, along with invited guests, executive officers, and staff of the Maldives Police Service.

The Police said the Rakka campaign focuses on increasing road safety awareness among school students and the wider public, while also delivering training programmes to strengthen safe road-use practices. Authorities described the initiative as a collaborative effort reflecting a shared commitment to reducing road accidents and fostering safer, more responsible behaviour on Maldivian roads.
