According to the President’s Office, Muizzu announced that the government has amended the land use plan for Gulhi Falhu and assured the residents that officials would complete the marking, demarcation, and handover of plots to recipients within two to three months, except for those allocated land in the area designated for bridge construction.

Addressing the Giraavaru Falhu issue, Muizzu confirmed that his government would cancel the agreement made by the previous administration and take over responsibility for the land reclamation work. He promised to fulfil his pledge to those allocated land in the area once the reclamation is complete.

Speaking about Uthuru Thila Falhu, the President stated that the government would reclaim 125 hectares of the lagoon this year to address housing issues, with completion expected next year. He also confirmed that reclamation work in the Hulhumalé lagoon would be finished by July this year.

Additionally, the President announced that the government has resolved the issues surrounding the flat allocation list and assured that officials would publish the list before the end of the week without further delay.

Medicines on MFDA List Available at STO from March 15

While speaking to the residents of Meedhoo, President Muizzu also assured that all medicines on the Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) essential medicine list will be available at State Trading Organisation (STO) pharmacies from 15 March onwards.

President’s Office said he asserted that the government has ended the practice of pharmacies making excessive profits from medicine sales. He explained that this issue directly caused the recent medicine shortage. However, he emphasised that the government would not allow any party to create hardships for citizens.
