Reduction in Hulhumale’ Phase I Flats’ Rates Begins Today

The rental rates for flats allocated in Hulhumale’ Phase I will be reduced by 20 percent effective from today.

In line with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s ‘Hafutha14’ roadmap, HDC announced a 20 percent reduction in monthly rent for these properties, excluding maintenance fees.

This decision fulfills a campaign promise made by President Muizzu to lower the rent burden on residents. 

Muizzu emphasised the government’s commitment to assisting citizens during these difficult times, acknowledging the financial strain faced by many in meeting rental obligations. As part of this effort, fines for non-payment of rent on HDC flats have been waived.

The adjustment in rental rates aims to alleviate financial pressure on tenants and aligns with broader efforts to support individuals and businesses affected by economic downturns.
