Registration Opens for Maldives Half Marathon 2026 in Hulhumalé

iRunners Maldives has opened registration for the 2026 Maldives Half Marathon, scheduled for 14 August in Hulhumalé. The annual race attracts participants from around the world and features a coastal route along the island’s scenic shoreline.

The 2026 event offers a range of categories, including a 21.0975km half marathon, a 15km race, the 10km Tough Ten, a 5km fun run, a wheelchair race, and three Kids Mile races at distances of 3.2km, 1.6km, and 800m.

According to iRunners Maldives, in the run-up to race day, participants and visitors can attend the Maldives Running Expo, which will be held from 11–13 August in Hulhumalé. The expo will feature fitness brands, wellness activities, interactive sessions and health-focused products. Live entertainment will run throughout the three-day event.

A key attraction will be the Run Shop, offering exclusive Maldives-themed merchandise inspired by whale sharks, turtles and mantas, along with energy gels, supplements and running gear.

Organisers have announced a Super Early Bird registration window from 1 December to 9 January 2026, allowing participants to secure places at discounted rates. They expect strong interest as the Maldives continues to position itself as a growing destination for running and sports tourism.

The organisers said the event offers an opportunity to combine sport, travel and leisure in a single weekend and encouraged runners to register early and plan ahead for the 2026 race.
