Remaining Lands to Be Distributed Before Saturday, Says Planning Ministry

The Ministry of National Planning, Housing & Infrastructure has assured that the distribution of the majority of land registries has been successfully processed, with the entire allocation set to be completed before Saturday.

Initiated under the first phase of the Binveriya scheme, over 20,000 individuals applied for land parcels in Hulhumale’, Gulheefalhu, and Giraavaru.

State Minister for Planning, Akram Kamaludeen, said that a substantial portion of land registries has been delivered to the intended recipients. He further noted that there remain some registries yet to be signed and handed over.

According to Akram, there is a group of approximately 1,500 individuals who have yet to receive notification to claim their land registry. Nevertheless, he assured that all outstanding processes would be finalised within the next two days.

The government has identified 18,955 eligible individuals in the Male’ area to receive land parcels. 

Following the expiration of the application deadline for the second round of the Binveriya scheme on the 24th of last month, a total of 19,347 applications were submitted.
