MP Saud Hussain representing Vilingili, proposed a resolution at Parliament, aiming to prohibit Israeli citizens from entering the country.
The resolution condemns the actions taken by the State of Israel, particularly its military operations in parts of Palestine, calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities and demands that Israel cease the atrocities committed against the Palestinian people.

Furthermore, the resolution urges Israel to withdraw from all occupied Palestinian territories and formally recognise Palestine as an independent state.
Highlighting Maldives’ longstanding stance on the matter, the resolution shows the nation’s recognition of an independent Palestinian state within the territorial boundaries of 1967.
It also reaffirms East Jerusalem as the capital of this state. The resolution contends that Israel’s continued occupation of additional Palestinian lands poses a significant obstacle to the reality of two separate, coexisting states.
The resolution also expresses concern over the disruption of essential services to Palestinians, including water, electricity, drinking water, and medical assistance.
Additionally, it condemns the closure of all checkpoints and gates surrounding the Gaza Strip, restricting the flow of food and supplies into the area.
In its final statement, the resolution characterises Israel’s actions against the Palestinian population, irrespective of age or health, as a grave crime against humanity.
The resolution advocates for a ban on Israeli citizens entering Maldives and a prohibition on products originating from Israel. If any diplomatic relations currently exist between Israel and Maldives, the resolution calls for their suspension and insists that Israel withdraw from all Palestinian territories it occupies.
These measures are proposed to remain in effect until a peaceful resolution to the conflict can be achieved.
