The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Maldives, Yahya Hassan Alqahtani, met with Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef at the President’s Office earlier today, in a meeting that reaffirmed the close diplomatic ties between the two countries.

The courtesy call provided an opportunity for both sides to reflect on the strength of the longstanding relationship between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia, marked by mutual respect and continued cooperation across various sectors.

Vice President Latheef expressed his appreciation for the consistent support extended by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, acknowledging the role it has played in supporting the Maldives’ development goals. The Maldives and Saudi Arabia have shared decades of diplomatic engagement, with collaboration in areas such as infrastructure development, Islamic affairs, education, and financial assistance.
