A Saudi delegation, including top business leaders, arrived in the Maldives yesterday to hold investment discussions.

The delegation is headed by Saudi Investment for International Relations Deputy Minister Sara Al-Sayed and includes senior officials from the Saudi government as well as leading business representatives.

The Saudi Embassy in Maldives stated that during the three-day visit, the delegation will meet with several Maldivian government officials and engage in discussions on expanding investments between the two countries. An investment forum is also expected to be held to share details of opportunities in the Maldives with the delegation.

Saudi Arabia is a key partner in the Maldives’ social and infrastructural development. The Saudi Fund has consistently provided support for sustainable development projects, including major initiatives in water, sewerage, and infrastructure. The fund also extended loan assistance for one of the country’s largest projects, the development of Velana International Airport.

Relations between Saudi Arabia and the Maldives have been further strengthened under the current administration.
