Saudi Prince Fahad Saud Alshalan and Other Dignitaries Pays Courtesy Call on President Muizzu

His Royal Highness Prince Fahad Saud Alshalan of Saudi Arabia paid a courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Muizzu yesterday afternoon at the President’s Office. Several other dignitaries also paid courtesy calls to President Muizzu yesterday.

During the courtesy call, President Muizzu  highlighted that the Maldives International Financial Centre (MIFC) will serve as a key pillar in the nation’s economic diversification agenda. An agreement was signed between the Maldivian government and MBS Global Investments to establish the MIFC on Sunday, in a ceremony held at Kurumba Island Resort.

He expressed appreciation for the longstanding and valued relationship between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia, and thanked His Royal Highness for visiting the Maldives and gracing the occasion of the Joint Venture Agreement Signing Ceremony for the establishment of the MIFC between the Ministry of Finance and Planning and MBS Global Investments.

His Royal Highness Prince Fahad Saud Alshalan of Saudi Arabia, expressed his commitment to supporting the Maldives’ development efforts and conveyed his interest in building further cooperation in mutually beneficial areas. He commended President Dr Muizzu’s vision for the country’s progress and expressed willingness to strengthen bilateral relations across various sectors.

President Muizzu also met with Marwan Al Hajeri, Chairman of MBS Global Investments Co. LLC, President of MBS Global Investments Co. LLC, Nayef bin Eid Al Thani, Labour Minister of the Government of Karnataka, India, antosh S. Lad, during courtesy calls yesterday. 

During these calls President Muizzu discussed bilateral relations with these dignitaries, and the ways advancing the MIFC will diverse the Maldives’ economy.
