Seventeen International Airlines Now Using Maldives’ Sea-to-Air Cargo Service

As many as 17 international airlines have joined the Maldives’ Sea to Air cargo service, according to the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).

The initiative, launched in May of the previous year, is designed to facilitate the transportation of goods that arrive in the Maldives by sea and are then shipped onward by air to destinations around the world.

Since its inception, the service has grown significantly in scale, with cargo currently being dispatched to 23 locations globally.

The service initially began with Turkish Airlines and has transported approximately two million kilograms of cargo.
