Severed Arm in Noonu Atoll Speedboat Accident Remains Missing, Say Police

Police have confirmed that the severed arm of a Bangladeshi man, who was injured in a speedboat accident near a resort in Noonu atoll, remains missing despite repeated search efforts.
The incident occurred on the night of 12 May and was reported to authorities at 10:30pm. The 30-year-old man had been snorkelling and collecting sea cucumbers when he was struck by a speedboat, resulting in the amputation of his right arm at the elbow.
Police stated that two searches were conducted in the area where the accident took place, but the missing limb has not been recovered.
Several individuals, including the captain of the speedboat involved in the incident, have provided statements to investigators.
The injured man is currently receiving treatment at ADK Hospital in Malé.
Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the incident. While no immediate action has been taken, police noted that appropriate steps will be pursued against those found responsible once parts of the investigation are concluded.
