The newly constructed Islamic Centre in HA Dhidhdhoo has been officially inaugurated by the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, during a ceremony held yesterday.

The mosque within the Centre has been named Masjid Shaheed Umar Ahmed, in honour of Shaheed Umar Ahmed of H.A. Dhidhdhoo, who was martyred in the November 3rd attack. The naming also commemorates his service as an employee of the Malé Islamic Centre at the time of his martyrdom.

The HA Dhidhdhoo Islamic Centre has been developed with a wide range of facilities. Alongside the main prayer area, the Centre features an Islamic library, an outreach centre for the National Centre for the Holy Quran, a multipurpose hall, a seminar room, and an administrative office section.

The Centre was opened after the completion and establishment of all its facilities. Notably, a lift has been installed to enhance accessibility and convenience for users.
