Solih Vows to Setup RTL Services This Year in Laamu Atoll

In a statement made during a presidential election campaign rally in L. Maabaidhoo today, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, who is also the MDP presidential candidate, announced plans to introduce RTL services in Laamu atoll by the end of this year.

The President’s declaration came as part of his commitment to bolster local tourism, with a particular emphasis on enhancing transportation options.
Addressing the rally attendees, President Solih highlighted the crucial role that a well-functioning transportation system plays in the growth of local tourism.
He affirmed that the RTL speed ferry service is scheduled for deployment in Hahdhunmathi before the year’s end. This development is poised to improve connectivity within the atoll, thereby contributing to the overall advancement of the area’s tourism industry.
Pledging to uplift the quality of life for residents and visitors alike, he confirmed plans to tar the major roads in Mabaidhoo.
Moreover, the President disclosed his intentions to expand the local health center’s operations, ensuring round-the-clock access to medical care for the community.
Beyond these developments, President Solih outlined a holistic approach to enhancing the recreational landscape of the atolll. As part of this strategy, the creation of a beachfront recreational area is in the planning stage, along with the establishment of a modern gymnasium and a dedicated youth center.
