STELCO delivered generators to all five inhabited islands in Vaavu Atoll, increasing their combined power capacity by 1.8 megawatts.

In Kaafu Atoll, the company supplied 15 generators to nine islands, resulting in a total capacity increase of 12.8 megawatts.

Eight islands in Adh Atoll received 13 generators, including six new units. STELCO said this expanded the atoll’s energy capacity by 3.7 megawatts.

For AA Atoll, the company sent 11 generators to seven islands, raising their combined capacity by 5.4 megawatts.

STELCO said the continued provision of generators is part of broader efforts to reinforce electricity infrastructure across the atolls and meet rising demand, driven in part by the growth of local tourism and other economic sectors.
