STELCO Provides Jobs for 30 People with Disabilities

State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has provided employment opportunities for 30 people with disabilities.

The company said this endeavor is in line with the pledge by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu to ensure state-supported jobs for persons with disabilities.

First Lady Sajidha Mohamed presented appointment letters to the new employees at a ceremony held at STELCO, which was attended by Minister of Social and Family Development Dr Aishath Shiham and senior STELCO officials.

Speaking at the event, the First Lady said creating inclusive employment opportunities benefits both the families of persons with disabilities and the country as a whole. She noted that integrating individuals into the workforce enhances their health, quality of life, and financial independence, while fostering emotional support through workplace relationships and encouragement from colleagues.

She also highlighted that participating in structured work activities helps develop personal and professional skills, offering individuals the chance to broaden their capabilities and strengthen self-confidence.
