The State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has recognised employees involved in delivering electricity services to the 4,000 housing units developed in Hulhumalé Phase II, following the completion of all related electrical works.

In a post shared on X, STELCO said its Deputy Managing Director, Dr Ali Azwar—who is currently leading the company’s management—along with senior executives, met with staff who took part in the special project yesterday. According to the post, the company’s management expressed appreciation for the team’s efforts and encouraged employees in recognition of the work carried out to complete the project.

The recognition comes after STELCO announced last week that all electrical works required to supply power to the Hulhumalé Phase II housing development had been completed. According to the company, the works included installing cables to the main electrical panels, establishing and testing connections, and finalising all remaining technical requirements to supply electricity from the panels to individual apartments.

STELCO said the completion of the works fulfils a key infrastructure requirement for the handover and occupation of the flats, adding that the electricity network is now fully ready to serve the housing development.
