STELCO Unveils Five-Year Strategic Action Plan for Growth and Sustainability

The State Electric Company (STELCO) has officially launched a five-year Strategic Action Plan (SAP) aimed at modernising and enhancing the electricity, water, and sewerage sectors in the Maldives. 

The plan was introduced by the company’s Managing Director, Hussain Fahumy, who initiated the development process after assuming leadership to align STELCO’s services with the country’s rapid development.

According to STELCO, the SAP was created with input and guidance from the company’s leadership, with contributions from experts across various technical and managerial roles. The plan’s primary focus is on improving service quality and sustainability while strengthening public trust in STELCO’s operations. The SAP framework includes five overarching strategic objectives, supported by 19 strategic goals, 55 targets, and 96 actionable items.

During the launch, Fahumy expressed his confidence in the plan, which he described as a forward-thinking roadmap developed by an educated and youthful team. He highlighted the plan’s potential to streamline the company’s objectives and operations, building a strong foundation for STELCO’s future growth.
