TO and Makita marked 25 years of partnership
STO and Makita celebrated 25 years of partnership with a special event held at Kurumba Maldives Resort.
The occasion was attended by STO Managing Director and CEO Shimad Ibrahim, Makita Director and Corporate Officer of International Sales Headquarters Omote Takashi, and other distinguished guests.

Makita showcased its latest range of power tools during the celebration, offering hands-on demonstrations in a specially designed experience zone to highlight product capabilities and innovations.
STO Construction Solutions Director Mohamed Iman highlighted the strong 25-year collaboration between the two companies and expressed gratitude to loyal customers who have supported the partnership over the years.
Plaques of appreciation were presented to key customers who have contributed significantly to the success of STO Makita and maintained long-standing relationships. Honorees included Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), Housing Development Corporation (HDC), State Electric Company Ltd (STELCO), Maldives Ports Limited (MPL), Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), Universal, Hawks Pvt Ltd, Alia Construction Pvt Ltd, and SJ Constructions Pvt Ltd.
Omote Takashi and Japanese Ambassador to the Maldives Ishigami Rumiko addressed attendees, emphasising the strong relationship between Makita and STO and the positive impact the partnership has had on the construction sector and economic ties between Japan and the Maldives.
Founded in 1915 in Japan, Makita is a globally recognised brand known for its high-quality power tools and equipment. STO introduced Makita to the Maldivian market 25 years ago, and the brand has since become a trusted name among professionals in the region.
