Strong Winds Damage Five Homes in Addu, Authorities Reveal

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has reported that strong winds damaged the roofs of five houses in Addu City, though no injuries occurred.

The NDMA, working in coordination with the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) and the Addu City Council, has extended assistance to those affected, particularly in the Maradhoo Feydhoo area.

According to the NDMA, 13 people, including four children under the age of four, were residing in the damaged homes. All affected residents have temporarily relocated to the homes of relatives.

The properties impacted include one house in Maradhoo, two in Feydhoo, and one each in Hulhudhoo and Maradhoo Feydhoo. The MNDF has been actively supporting efforts to rebuild the damaged roofs.

Authorities have assured the public that they are closely monitoring the situation and will continue providing necessary aid to the affected households.
