Successful Completion of Two-Week Capacity Building Programme for Civil Servants

The 26th Capacity Building Programme, spanning two weeks, aimed at enhancing the skills of civil servants from the Maldives, has successfully concluded at the National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) in New Delhi.

A cohort of 38 officers, holding positions such as Assistant Directors, Certification Officers, Council Officers, Administrators, Legal Officers, and Principals of schools, among others, participated in the programme.

The ceremony marking the programme’s completion was honoured by the presence of His Excellency Shri Ibrahim Shaheeb, the High Commissioner of Maldives, who expressed gratitude towards the NCGG for its pivotal role in facilitating the capacity development of Maldivian officers. He lauded the effective and proactive engagement of the participants and encouraged collaborative efforts towards the betterment of the nation.

During the closing address, Shri V. Srinivas, Secretary of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) & Director General of NCGG, Government of India, emphasised the pivotal role that digitisation has played in advancing good governance. He particularly highlighted its significance in sectors like health and education, where digital initiatives have led to improved services and closer interactions between citizens and the government.

The successful execution of the entire capacity building programme was attributed to the coordinated efforts of Dr. B.S. Bisht, the Course Coordinator and Associate Professor at NCGG, along with Dr. Sanjeev Sharma, the Associate Course Coordinator, and Shri Brijesh Bisht, the Training Assistant.
