Highlighting the trust garnered from the public, Latheef expressed confidence that membership numbers would witness a surge once the party establishes a structural framework in alignment with its constitution.

In shedding light on the party’s ongoing activities, Latheef disclosed that preparations for parliamentary elections are underway, including the election process for the appointment of a mayor. The Democrats are gearing up to contest for 93 seats in the upcoming parliamentary elections, with aspirations to secure 25 to 30 constituencies.

Latheef underscored his commitment to democratic principles, pledging to make decisions within the established rules and principles of democracy.

The Democrats have set an ambitious target to become one of the largest political parties in the Maldives by the year 2024.
