The Democrats Open Candidacy for Parliamentary Elections

The Democrats have officially initiated the candidacy process for their upcoming parliamentary elections, opening the floor for potential contenders.

According to the party’s announcement, the window for submitting candidacy applications spans from Thursday until 4:00 pm on February 4.

In a previous statement, the Democrats outlined that individuals registering with the party by the specified deadline and meeting the legal prerequisites for parliamentary candidates will be considered eligible to participate in the party’s primaries.

Prospective candidates are obligated to furnish a criminal and debt clearance form from the Department of Judicial Administration (DJA) and a criminal record clearance from the Maldives Correctional Service alongside their completed candidacy form.
