The scholars will attend Mahindra United World College of India (MUWCI), Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong, and Pearson College UWC in Canada.

According to UWC Maldives, the recipients were selected through a competitive process that included a public call for applications, interviews, and a two-day selection camp to assess candidates’ skills and performance. The evaluation focused on academic excellence, technical proficiency, social engagement, and critical thinking.

UWC Maldives stated that the scholarships provide a transformative opportunity for students to gain global experiences and perspectives that contribute to personal and community development. The organisation expressed hope that the scholars will use their education to make a positive impact upon returning to the Maldives.

At present, three other Maldivian students are pursuing their studies in Germany, China, and South Africa through UWC scholarships.
