Three Somalians travelling on a small dinghy have been cast ashore on an uninhabited island in Noonu Atoll, police revealed today.
According to the police, the dinghy was stranded on Noonu Vavathi, an island leased for agricultural purposes. Photos shared by the police depict the three men sitting on a bench near the beach, alongside a small dinghy equipped with an outboard marine engine.

Somalia is located just over 3,000 kilometres west of the Maldives. There have been past instances of Somali pirates being found in Maldivian waters.
