The Elections Commission of the Maldives (ECM) has announced that today at 4:00 PM is the deadline for individuals intending to change their designated voting locations to re-register for the upcoming parliamentary elections.

The disclosures from ECM indicate that more than 3,000 voters have successfully completed the re-registration process in anticipation of the impending parliamentary polls.

This initiative affords individuals the opportunity to revise their voting particulars, including the option to modify their location or island of registration if deemed necessary. Noteworthy adjustments entail the relocation of registrations initially lodged at venues such as resorts, overseas locales, industrial premises, and correctional facilities to individuals’ permanent addresses.

The re-registration process is predominantly conducted online, with voters utilising the e-Faas application to submit their requests. For those opting for online submissions via the re-registration portal, submission of a copy of an official document validating their voter status is requisite.

However, applicants utilising the e-Faas application are exempted from providing photographic evidence or images of both sides of their identification cards.

In instances where individuals encounter challenges in submitting their forms digitally, ECM has extended support services at its headquarters in Dharubaaruge, where personnel are available to offer assistance.

Additionally, ECM has implemented measures enabling voters to review their registered information via its website or by sending a message to 1414.
