The Ministry of Tourism and Environment has granted a final extension for registered travel agencies to submit their annual reports, moving the deadline to 2:00 p.m. on 31 July.
The decision follows widespread non-compliance with the original deadline of 30 June, as outlined in the Maldives’ travel agency regulation.
According to current regulatory requirements, all licensed travel agencies must file an annual report detailing their operations for the previous year by the end of June. Agencies that fail to meet this obligation risk losing their operational licences.
The ministry confirmed that a significant number of agencies had not submitted their reports by the original deadline. In response, it has introduced this final grace period to allow agencies to meet their obligations.
The ministry has stated that no submissions will be accepted after 2:00 p.m. on 31 July. Agencies that fail to comply by this revised deadline will face immediate revocation of their licences. Reinstatement will only be possible through a new application process and subject to the ministry’s standard licensing requirements.
