Tourism Ministry Invites Bids For Kaashidhoo Lagoon Resort Project
The Ministry of Tourism and Environment has announced the opening of bids for the development and operation of a tourist resort in Kaashidhoo lagoon, Male’ Atoll.
The proposed project involves dredging part of the 115.21-hectare lagoon to develop a resort on a 10-hectare area. The resort must include a minimum capacity of 100 beds.
According to the Ministry, the initiative is part of a presidential pledge by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu. Both local and foreign companies are eligible to participate, with the deadline for bid submissions set for 13:00 on 20 November.
Application forms for purchasing tender documents are available on the Ministry’s website and can also be collected from the Ministry’s reception between 09:00 and 13:00 on working days, from 14 September to 19 November.
The Ministry will hold two information sessions for interested parties. The first session will take place online on 24 September, followed by a second meeting on 21 October.
