This figure places the Maldives fewer than 100,000 arrivals away from reaching a major milestone for 2025. Compared to the same period last year, the country has recorded an increase of 68,753 tourist arrivals.

China remains the leading source market, contributing 105,191 visitors and accounting for 11.5 percent of the total market share. Russia follows closely with 98,419 visitors (10.8 percent), while the United Kingdom ranks third with 93,853 arrivals (10.3 percent). Other key source markets include Italy (79,737), Germany (70,011), and India (49,721).

The Maldives received a record-breaking two million visitors in 2024. The country, which was named the World’s Leading Destination by the World Travel Awards for a fifth consecutive year, aims to increase total arrivals to 2.2 million in 2025.
