Twin Brothers Arrested in Hulhumalé for Suspected Drug Possession

The Maldives Police Service has arrested twin brothers on suspicion of drug possession during a raid on an apartment in Hulhumalé.
According to Police, the two Maldivian nationals—identified as 28-year-old twin brothers Ahmed Raif Yousuf and Raig Yousuf from M. Alivahaa—were taken into custody during a joint operation. The arrests were made following a court-approved search of the apartment.

During the search, Police discovered substances suspected to be drugs, along with a number of related items. These included a weed grinder, vaping equipment such as vapes and flavoured vape liquid bottles, and a knife.
Authorities have confirmed that the case remains under active investigation.
Drug-related crime continues to be a pressing social concern in the Maldives. Police statistics show that during the month of Ramadan alone, 114 drug-related cases were reported, resulting in the arrest of 91 suspects.
