Two Ambassadorial Nominations Referred to Committee in Parliamentary Session

In today’s Parliamentary Session, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s nominations for Maldives’ ambassadors to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bangladesh were referred to the foreign relations committee for consideration.

The nominations, initially sent to parliament in August and September, were included in the agenda for discussion during Today’s session.

Secretary General of the parliament read out the respective letters, and deputy speaker Eva Abdulla formally announced their referral to the foreign relations committee.

The two nominees put forth by the president for ambassadorial positions are:

1. UAE: Midhfa Naeem

2. Bangladesh: Shiuneen Rasheed

Currently, Aminath Shabeena is the Ambassador of Maldives to the United Arab Emirates, while Shiruzimath Sameer currently serves as the Maldivian Ambassador to Bangladesh.
