Two Arrested in Malé for Carrying Sharp Weapons in Public

Police have arrested two men in Malé after they were found carrying a sword and knives in a public area.
The individuals taken into custody are Mohamed Arif, aged 33, from Kelaage, GDh. Hoandehdhoo, and Haikal Abdulla Shathir, aged 21, from Violet House, S. Meedhoo.

According to police statements presented in court, officers recovered a sword, a knife, and a surgical blade in their possession.
The surgical knife was reportedly discarded on the ground when the suspects noticed police approaching.
The Criminal Court has ordered both individuals to be held in remand custody for 15 days as investigations continue.
