Two Arrested in Thinadhoo Over Sexual Activity

Two individuals were taken into police custody in GDh. Thinadhoo last night after being found engaged in sexual activity.

Authorities conducted the operation following intelligence reports of prostitution at a private residence. Police entered the property at around 11:30pm and apprehended the two individuals in the act.

The arrested parties include a 52-year-old Maldivian man and a 39-year-old Thai woman. When presented for their remand hearing, the court granted bail to the man, while the woman was placed in custody for four days.

The arrests come amid a recent crackdown by Maldives Immigration on prostitution-related activities, which has resulted in the detention of Maldivian nationals and the deportation of expatriates involved in such operations.
