Two Bangladeshi nationals have been arrested by Maldivian authorities on suspicion of trafficking drugs valued at MVR 3.3 million into the country.
The arrests were made at Velana International Airport on Wednesday, after the suspects were stopped by the Maldives Customs Service and handed over to the Maldives Police Service.
Police identified the suspects as Sajib, 32, and Shiful, 40, both from Bangladesh. They are suspected of attempting to traffic 1,105 grams of amphetamines into the Maldives.

The suspects were presented before the Criminal Court on Thursday and remanded in custody for 15 days.
