Two Foreign Nationals Arrested for Prostitution in the Maldives

Maldives Immigration has apprehended two foreign nationals for their alleged involvement in prostitution.

The Immigration Department announced the arrests in a post on X yesterday. The two individuals were detained during a joint operation with the police, aimed at identifying expatriates engaged in prostitution activities in the country.
The suspects have been identified as Geetha Kumarasamy, 39, from India, and Chhatra Bahadur Waji, 52, from Nepal. Immigration officials revealed that Kumarasamy was involved in prostitution, while Waji acted as an agent.
Kumarasamy has already been deported, and Waji is currently in the process of being deported.
