Uhdhoo Designated as Picnic Island for Dhaalu Atoll Residents 

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has designated Uhdhoo as a picnic island for the people of the southern part of the Nilandhe Atoll.

This designation, announced during the President’s ongoing tour of all the inhabited islands of South Nilandhe Atoll, means that Uhdhoo will now serve as a leisure destination for the community.

Uhdhoo, previously owned by a private individual, was returned to the Government after the agreement expired. The President has entrusted Uhdhoo to the Ministry of Cities, Local Government, and Public Works, which is overseeing the island’s management and facilitating travel to Uhdhoo. The Ministry will soon announce the details of its plans for Uhdhoo, providing transparency and reassurance to the community.
