UK Foreign Secretary Meets President Muizzu During Official Visit

The Rt Hon David Lammy MP, Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom, met with President Dr Mohamed Muizzu yesterday as part of the President’s official visit to the United Kingdom.

The meeting included discussions on bilateral cooperation between the Maldives and the UK, with a focus on fisheries, climate adaptation, renewable energy, and education, including scholarship initiatives. Both parties also considered opportunities for future collaboration in other sectors.

The call concluded with an acknowledgement of the long-standing diplomatic relationship between the two countries, first established on 26 July 1965.
