The government has extended the deadline for the submission of proposals from companies looking to provide Umrah travel services, now allowing applicants until October 31 to submit their proposals.

Proposals will only be accepted between 9 am and 1 pm on all non-public holidays, in accordance with the ministry’s announcement.

This extension is particularly beneficial for companies whose permits have either already expired or are set to expire in the upcoming month. It allows them to seek the necessary permit to provide Umrah travel services, ensuring that their operations remain compliant with the regulations.

Eligible companies that receive the permit will be granted a two-year authorisation period. Importantly, the government has imposed strict regulations prohibiting the collection of advance payments for Umrah travel without the appropriate authorisation in place.

The Islamic Ministry has previously issued warnings to companies engaged in conducting Umrah travel without the requisite authorisation.
