The government has allocated a budget to support the celebrations, with participation from residents of all age groups in the planning and arrangements. Current efforts include decorating parts of the island, establishing a visitor reception area at the harbour, developing a children’s park, and carrying out a clean-up initiative.

The Ministry of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage is also collaborating with the island council to organise a range of activities to mark National Day, which will be celebrated on 24 August.
