Velaa Private Island Maldives Wins Tekkers Resort Cup 2023

Tekkers Maldives has concluded the Grand Finale of the Tekkers Resort Cup 2023 on September 3, 2023 with Velaa Private Island claiming victory over St. Regis Vommuli.

For the Grand Finale of The Tekkers Resort Cup, the staff and fans of both Velaa Private Island and St. Regis came together for the occasion.

In the match, St. Regis took the lead late in the first half with a goal from Ibrahim Nasath, Jersey no. 19. The second half saw Velaa Maldives attempt to level the score.

They succeeded after Ibrahim Najah scored. Both teams attempted to secure a win, but a penalty shoot-out was the only way to separate them.

Velaa Private Island won the game after their keeper, Ahmed Shifau, saved a penalty, making them the Champions of the Tekkers Resort Cup.

Velaa Private Island Maldives’ keeper, Ahmed Shafiu, was named Man of the Match and Goalkeeper of the tournament. The referees, Ali Muneer, Abdulla Afeef, and Zaeem Ali, received plaques of appreciation.

The Best Manager of this year’s Tekkers Resort Cup was Shamweel Gasim of Velaa Private Island. The Best Young Player and Top Scorer were awarded to Jumeirah Maldives’ Hussain Saif Moosa.

Best Playmaker went to Ali Razee of Velaa Private Island for providing 5 assists in the tournament.

The top five players in this year’s Tekkers Resort Cup were Ahmed Imthinah and Ali Razee from Velaa Private Island, Ibrahim Nasath from St. Regis, Mohamed Ali from St. Regis, and Ahmed Shifau of Velaa Private Island. The Best Player award was given to the captain of Velaa Private Island, Ahmed Imran.
