Velana Airport Launches First-Ever Aviation Industry Awards in the Maldives

Velana Airport has introduced the first awards programme dedicated to the aviation industry in the Maldives.

The Velana Awards have been launched to recognise the contributions of partners operating at Velana International Airport in strengthening air transport connectivity, improving service quality, and supporting the Maldives’ position as a leading destination for travellers and business communities. The awards will be presented on an annual basis.

The inaugural edition features 22 awards across three main categories, comprising Passenger Awards, Cargo Awards and Lounge Awards. In addition, a special Airline of the Year award will be presented to an airline that has demonstrated outstanding performance and a significant contribution to the aviation sector.

The first Velana Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on Thursday night at Crossroads Maldives.
