VIA Handles Over 89,000 Tons of Cargo Last Year

Velana International Airport (VIA) handled over 89,000 tons of cargo in 2025, marking a 10 percent increase in annual cargo movements.

According to statistics shared by VIA on X, the airport processed 89,163 tons of cargo last year. This included 66,840 tons of inbound cargo and 22,323 tons of outbound cargo.

The airport also recorded a 22 percent rise in transshipments, with a total of 16,372 tons. This comprised 3,192 tons of sea-to-air cargo and 13,180 tons of air-to-air cargo.

Freighter operations accounted for 524 movements, with 4,300 tons of cargo throughput.

Several airlines facilitated cargo movements through VIA, including Afcom, Fly Vaayu, Mjets, Qatar Cargo, National Airlines, AirMaster, and MNG Airlines.
