VIA Terminal 1 Begins Operations For Batik Air And Bangkok Airways

Velana International Airport’s newly opened Passenger Terminal 1 has commenced operations for Batik Air and Bangkok Airways, further expanding the number of airlines served at the facility.

A ceremony was held at Terminal 1 to mark the occasion, with Commissioner General of Customs Fatimath Dhiyana attending as guest of honour. During the event, the check-in counters for Batik Air and Bangkok Airways were formally inaugurated.
The arrival of Batik Air flight OD293-5 and Bangkok Airways flight PG711-2 was celebrated with a water salute. Passengers disembarking were greeted with traditional Maldivian cultural performances.
Terminal 1 is currently home to seven airlines, including Maldivian, Air Arabia, Beond, Fitz Air, and Beijing Capital Airlines. The addition of Batik Air and Bangkok Airways brings the total number of airlines operating from the new terminal to seven.
