Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has refuted the claims suggesting he has vacated his official residence, Hilaaleege.
Reports circulated via a news website alleged on Monday that Hussain had relocated from Hilaaleege in Male’ City to an apartment in Hulhumale’. The article suggested his departure was prompted by concerns over government surveillance.
However, addressing the matter on X platform this morning, Hussain dismissed the allegations as “baseless”.
A senior government source corroborated to Sun that Hussain has yet to take up residence in Hilaaleege, which is presently undergoing renovation.
Hilaaleege serves as the designated official dwelling for the Maldives’ vice presidents, with Hussain’s predecessor, Faisal Naseem, also residing there during his tenure.
