The Minister of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development, Dr Ali Haidar Ahmed, served as the chief guest and presented the awards to the students. He highlighted Villa College as one of the leading institutions in the Maldives for higher education, describing it as an academic hub for Maldivian students.

The awards included the Qasim Ibrahim Award for Excellence, the most prestigious honour, presented to students achieving the highest cumulative grade point average (CGPA) or average marks in their programmes, along with ‘First Class’ or ‘Distinction’ status. This year, 36 students received the award.

The Villa College Gold Medal and Industry Prize was awarded to 54 students who demonstrated exceptional performance in their respective programmes. Established in 2019, this award is given in collaboration with industry leaders to recognise the best student in each batch.

The ACCA National Resident Prize was awarded to three students who achieved the highest marks in the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) examinations in the Maldives.

Villa College Rector, Dr Ahmed Anwar, emphasised the College’s aim to prepare students for leadership roles both nationally and internationally. The Vice Rector Ali Najeeb noted that 26 prominent businesses, associations, professional bodies, and foundations presented industry prizes during the ceremony, highlighting the College’s ongoing partnership with the industry.

The Student Achievement Awards Night, held annually since 2021, serves as a platform to connect the College with industry partners while recognising outstanding student performance across its 36 programmes.
