The Psychology Association of Villa College held its fourth Psychology Exhibition on Saturday, 11 October 2025, offering the public a twelve-hour celebration of human behaviour and mental processes.
The event was inaugurated by the Australian High Commissioner to the Maldives, His Excellency David Jessup, who commended the innovative approach taken by students in presenting complex psychological concepts.
The exhibition featured nine stalls designed by Bachelor of Psychology students, each representing a different branch of the discipline. Visitors explored topics such as education, forensic, evolutionary, cognitive, social, biological, and developmental psychology through interactive displays, games, and creative experiences. A special Kids stall introduced younger visitors to psychological ideas through play and imagination.
The VCare Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre also participated, highlighting the importance of mental health awareness and promoting open dialogue about psychological support services. Their presence emphasised the role of empathy and compassion in professional mental health care.
Beyond the educational displays, the exhibition supported two key United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education). It promoted mental health awareness, reduced stigma around therapy, and provided inclusive learning opportunities that extended beyond the classroom.
The event demonstrated Villa College’s commitment to making psychology accessible to the wider community. By combining academic knowledge with creative engagement, the exhibition showcased how learning about the human mind can be both informative and enjoyable, while preparing future psychologists to contribute meaningfully to society.
